Our running camps in Malibu, California are the only camps in the world which teach running-specific strength training (strength training which mimics the movements of running and thereby makes you stronger as you run). When you attend, you will learn the exact resistance training you need to carry out to heighten your speed, improve your fatigue-resistance while running, and lower your risk of overuse injury.

All ages and ability levels are always welcome at our camps. Two camps will be held this year.

Benefits

Malibu Running Camp Our camps are held in a beautiful setting. On the one side is the Pacific Ocean and beautiful Malibu beaches; on the other is the Santa Monica National Forest and the Santa Monica Mountains. We carry out strength and explosive training on the beach and enjoy beautiful trail runs in the Santa Monica National Forest. You will stay in a very comfortable single room and take your meals in the Pepperdine-University cafeteria, with a perfect view of the Pacific from the dining-room windows.

Only at our camps can you learn your true vVO2max - so that you can complete the best-possible high-quality workouts when you return home. Only at our camps do you learn the "Kenyan secrets" for recovering between workouts.

Our camps are highly individualized. Owen Anderson, Ph. D., will spend as much time as you need with you, discussing possible problems you have had with your running, outlining reasonable goals for yourself, and helping you put together the best-possible training program. If you have had injuries in the past, he will give you specific exercises to help keep you injury-free in the future.

When you attend one of our camps, you will learn the scientific principles underlying high-quality training, and you will understand how to put together training schedules which help you reach your full potential as a runner.

Malibu Running Camp You will have a great time! You will laugh heartily throughout the day as you hear Owen's stories about runners from all over the world and as you enjoy the fellowship of other good-natured and interesting runners.

You will learn exactly how to taper before competitions and how to carry out the best-possible hill workouts, the optimal lactate-threshold sessions, the most-outstanding workouts for running economy, and the circuit sessions which have the most-advantageous effects on your whole-body strength.

You will lose some weight, your stress levels will plummet, and you will have a great vacation, in addition to learning a lot about running! You will have lots of fun during our night out on the town in either Hollywood, Malibu, or Santa Monica.
